Born in the Florida panhandle and raised in the mountains of northern Nevada, I returned home to the Pensacola area for good in 2000. My journey as a photographer began in 2007 and I haven't looked back since.

How long have you been in the photography business?

I picked up my first "real" camera in 2007 and photographed my first wedding in 2008.

Favorite part of wedding day?

The period of time when the bride and bridesmaids are getting ready. There is so much excitement and maybe a little nervous anticipation.  The moment when the dress goes on and it gets really real?  That's the best.

Best tip for brides during the planning stage?

It's your wedding, not a competition. Do what makes you happy, try not to stress the small things too much, and get yourself a wedding email address before you send the first wedding email (I may or may not have stolen that one from an amazing wedding planner I know!).

Best tip for brides on their wedding day (for great pics)?

Be in the moments. All of them.  Joy is always beautiful.

Secret talent?

I can knit a mean throw blanket or scarf!

Dream location to photograph a wedding?

Alaska.  No, a castle!  Wait....a tucked away Italian vineyard!  Or New Zealand!!

Favorite wedding detail?

I LOVE a gorgeous paper suite, but my favorite details are always the ones that are personal to the couple.  See my above statement about doing what makes you happy!

Favorite non-photo-related hobby?

Does eating count as a hobby?  I love food, and reading cookbooks, and trying new foods, and cooking for people.  Happy occasion?  Let's go out to eat!  Sad occasion?  Let me bring you something to eat.  If you come to my house the first thing I will ask after inviting you in is whether or not I can get you anything to eat.  I might have been someone's Italian grandma in a past life.
