1. What led you to be a wedding photographer?
“I fell into wedding photograph fairly accidentally. I never thought of myself as a natural artist, though I dabbled in lots of mediums over the years. Photography seemed to be the one I was best at and as I took more pictures of more people the idea that I might be able to make a living doing something I truly enjoyed began to grow. A decade later, I can’t believe what was a fun little hobby has become a career I am so proud of.”
2. Describe your personality in 3 words.
“Meticulous. Nurturing. Colorful (except my wardrobe).”
3.If you had one song that described your life, at this very moment, what would it be?
4. Dog or cat, obviously the most important question on this list.
“Cats. Also, baby goats. In pajamas.”
5. What would your dream vacation location be?
“So many places! My ancestry is largely Scottish/Irish and I would love to spend more time exploring where my family came from! Anywhere with mountains, rugged coastlines, and cool weather is the place for me!”
6. What is your secret talent?
“I can find anything. Really. Lose your shoes/keys/wallet/sandwich/head? No problem, I know right where it is!”
7. What is your favorite location to photograph?
“Anywhere with interesting texture and gorgeous light!”
8. What is at the top of your bucket list?
“I don’t have one, and I don’t mean that in the sense that there is nothing I want to see or do, but in the sense that I am pretty content most of the time. I’ve seen some awesome places, met incredible people, and had some pretty fantastic experiences in my 37 short years and don’t feel like I am missing out on my life. If I am lucky, I’ll have at least a few more unexpected, awesome experiences to add to that list someday.”
9. What is the best part about being a wedding photographer?
“There is such beauty in intense emotion and wedding days are often one of the most emotionally charged of people’s lives. Being invited, weekend after weekend, to witness and document people at a time when they are feeling so much is incredibly special. Sometimes I think I get more from that connection than my clients do and I am so grateful to every couple has given me that opportunity.”
10. IF you could be something other than a wedding photographer what would it be and why?
“I think I would still want to do something that allows me to connect with people. I love health and wellness, taking care of other people (and myself!) and would love to do something with that interest someday!”
