The first step in the AKP experience is selecting and booking the photographer who is the best fit for you and your wedding.
All of our photographers are full-time with our company (it’s our only job!), and have years of experience photographing weddings all around the world. But what does that really mean for our clients? Before you sign the contract, you will be paired with a specific photographer so you have the opportunity to develop an amazing working relationship prior to your wedding day.

We work very hard to make sure all of our photographers shoot in a similar style, and we edit all of our work in-house to make sure the images we produce are consistent, no matter who took the photo. If you don’t have a strong preference, then we will suggest the photographer we feel would be the best fit for you, based on personality and style.
YES! It’s important that you feel comfortable with your photographer (after all, we spend more time with you on your wedding day than anyone else, including your fiance!). If you’re local, we can schedule a time for you to come into our Pensacola studio for a chat and a cup of coffee (or champagne); if you’re out of town, then a phone or video chat is in order. Most of the time, these consultations end with a big hug, lots of laughter, and a signed contract - and are the start of a great relationship that often lasts well beyond the wedding day.

In this way, your experience with your photographer is as close and personal as if you were working with a one-person company. Most of your contact will be with YOUR photographer, but there are also some pretty great advantages to having our entire team behind you.
While we certainly hope this doesn’t happen, there are rare occasions where the unexpected occurs. If for some reason your photographer is unable to photograph your wedding as planned, you have the entire AKP team behind you to make sure the situation is handled as quickly as possible. If we have another photographer available on your date, they can step in and make sure you still have the same seamless experience.
Not at all. In fact, sometimes we produce our very best work the first time we work at a venue because the creative juices are flowing! Even better, if your photographer hasn’t worked at your venue, the odds are that another one of the team probably has, and we collaborate and share our knowledge with each other to ensure that you have the best experience possible.
While we recommend scheduling all of your pre-wedding sessions with your actual photographer, there are sometimes situations that make this impossible (usually because you’re only in town for a day or two and your photographer is already booked). In these cases, we are happy to schedule your session with another member of our team, so you are able to have the photos you want on the date you need!
Give us a call! In addition to a team of photographers, we have a Client Experience Manager, Mel, who works in our studio five days a week and can answer just about any question you have. If you call during business hours, we WILL answer and can help on the spot.
So, you met your photographer, fell in love with them (because you definitely will!), and are ready to make it official. Our booking process is streamlined, intuitive, and simple.
In order to officially book your date, we require two things: a signed contract, and a retainer. We do all of our contracting online, making it simple and convenient for all of our clients. When you’re ready, we will email you a link that allows you to review your collection, add any additional sessions or album upgrades, sign your contract, and pay online. It only takes a few minutes, and then you can rest easy knowing you have locked in your photographer!
The retainer is 50% of your total wedding collection. This payment is non-refundable (because once you’re booked, we turn away other potential clients for that date!).
As soon as you know your date and venue, I recommend you go ahead and make it official with your photographer! We book an average of nine months before the wedding day, but we have many clients who secure their date over a year in advance to make sure they have the photographer of their dreams.
