What was your favorite detail from the wedding day?
I think anyone that knows me knows that I love authenticity. Nothing makes me happier on a wedding day than my couple being 100% themselves, no matter what that looks like. Leigh-Anne and Will were the perfect example of this and truly did their day their way! From having their celebration at one of their favorite bars to singing sea shanties with their beloved pirates, this day had me grinning from start to finish. It will be one I won’t soon forget.
What made the reception enjoyable?
Did I mention there were pirates at this wedding?!?! Seriously, not just one but multiple – swords and all! This love story began in an Irish band. Upon moving to Pensacola, they started a local sea shanty group. This talented crew of singers (and pirate enthusiasts) quickly took over their neighborhood dive, The Goat Lips Chew and Brew House. It only felt natural that this pastime would work its way into their big day, and thus the greatest reception ever was born. The outdoor stage at Calvert’s in the Heights stayed packed with participants, while the remaining guests sat back and enjoyed the show. Each ballad rolled effortlessly into the next, and before we knew it the night had slipped away.
Were there any unique traditions that made the ceremony memorable?
Will wowed his bride with a custom “Dungeons & Dragons” die set during their ceremony. The couple, who are lovers of DnD, rolled for initiative, a challenge to see who would get to read their vows first. This gesture not only surprised the bride, but made for a uniquely entertaining addition to their ceremony. Leigh-Anne loved her special gift, and it wasn’t just because she won the roll. The best part? Now they get to enjoy a piece of their wedding day every time they play.
