Rebecca + Stuart – Wedding
November 08, 2019

Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?

“More often than not, it seems like wedding days are protected under some magical weather shield, and Rebecca and Stuart’s wedding day was no different.  It stormed the day before, and it stormed that morning – to the extent that we were all talking about back-up plans and covered porches. But at just the right moment, the rain moved out and the sun took its place.  We were able to capture absolutely gorgeous, sun-drenched portraits in the park, as pretty as though rain weren’t even on the horizon.”

What made the wedding venue special?

“The Ezell House is a beautiful, traditional wedding venue in downtown Mobile, Alabama.  It is a restored, historic home, and is gracefully adorned with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, crystal chandeliers, tailored drapes and classic furnishings.  The courtyard is a lovely space and allows guests to wander in and out, sipping on a cocktail and enjoying the party.”

Tell me about the couple’s choice of color palette.

“Rebecca chose a beautiful, burgundy shade for her bridesmaids dresses, and that set the tone for a gorgeous fall color scheme.  The flowers burst with rich shades of reds, pinks, and oranges, and were the perfect complement for the crisp air and classic Ezell House.”

Where there special details with symbolic importance?

“Tucked discreetly in Rebecca’s bouquet were two crocheted roses, a nod to her grandmother!  Personal wedding details like this are my favorite – they are subtle, meaningful, and add an element of personality that is deep and special.”

Was there unique transportation?

“Yes!  Stuart and Rebecca transported their bridal party around town in Mobile’s famous Duck Boats (look them up for a tour next time you’re in lower Alabama!).  These vehicles can go on both land and water, and are a wonderfully kitschy ode to the Gulf Coast, and they were filled with the laughter of bridesmaids and groomsmen (and photographers!) on this fall day!”
