What made the wedding venue special?
Mikayla and William chose to have their ceremony on one of the beaches by the Emerald Grande. These beaches are special not only because of just how beautiful they are, but also because this is where Mikayla and William actually got engaged! It was such an amazing full circle moment to be able to have their ceremony and do their couples portraits on the same beach where they agreed to spend the rest of their life together. The sentimental value they held for this beach made everything so much more special for them on their most important day!
Were there any children involved in the ceremony or reception that were memorable?
Mikayla and William had a few children who were important people during their day, but arguably one of the most important children there was William‘s son, Grayson! He got to be by his father’s (and now stepmother’s) side all day long. He was there during the first look; he was one of his father’s groomsmen; and he was even there when the couple made their entrance into the reception and cut the cake! And best of all, he absolutely tore it up on the dance floor, pulling out all sorts of awesome dance moves and special stunts all night long!
Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
For the most part, yes, the weather did cooperate on Mikayla and William’s wedding day. However, right as we were in the middle of doing family portraits on the beach after the ceremony, a cloud rolled in, and the bottom completely fell out! The men rushed to cover the women with their jackets, and guests tried to find some sort of shelter on the beach to hide from the rain. As most people on the Gulf Coast know, showers like these don’t last for long and once the rain passed, the couple decided to forge ahead with their family photos (albeit a little wet!) Just as we were wrapping up, the clouds parted for a beautiful clear sky, right on time to take some amazing couples portraits!
