Pensacola is a pretty amazing city. It’s small enough to feel intimate (and to see someone you know every time you go to the grocery store), but large enough to hold a variety of viewpoints and backgrounds. The continuous flow of military personnel through our bases helps to keep the city vibrant and fresh, so even though we are definitely off the beaten path, our city doesn’t feel stale or outdated. Our recently re-energized downtown is incredible, and improving every day. It has the Spanish colonial influence that you find in larger coastal cities like Mobile or Saint Augustine, but our stunning beaches contribute a relaxed, “come-as-you-are” vibe. All of these elements create an environment that is truly unique. This urban personality is the backdrop for downtown Pensacola weddings. Classic architecture, wrought-iron fences, brick streets and lush gardens – the opportunities are endless and diverse. Lisa and Jay’s downtown wedding was the perfect blend of all of these. Their ceremony was held in one of the oldest cathedrals in the city, which is gorgeous and lines a city block full of history. We visited the marina for a few waterfront photos before celebrating the evening at 5eleven, another historic venue that has been around as long as Pensacola. This couple was as lovely as their surroundings and it was an absolute honor to be there.
