Brittany + Jason – Wedding

Every wedding is lovely in its own way, and sometimes the things that go wrong are the things that make the wedding memorable. I know at my own wedding, the “problems” are the things I still laugh about – parades shutting down major streets, boyfriends having to jump fences to reach the church, NBA players causing a ruckus at our hotel… And now, as a photographer, I see situations like this every weekend. Torrential rains often lead to creative photos and even better stories. A particularly tipsy aunt leads to laughter and hugs on the dance floor. A ripped bustle leads to extra twirling on the dance floor as the bride is forced to gracefully hold her satin train all night. So really, no wedding is perfect. Except sometimes, it really is just perfect. And that is how Brittany and Jason’s day went. Not a hitch. Perfect weather (seriously, the prettiest blue sky with puffy white clouds). Happy people. Pink champagne. Delicious food. A donut bar. Brittany and Jason’s wedding just WORKED. We spent the morning at a gorgeous beach house right on the sand, overlooking the aqua waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Brit and her girls drank champagne, practiced vows, and danced in the sun on the porch. Jason’s reaction was super sweet when he saw her in her gown for the first time (I mean, she looked seriously amazing), and their beach ceremony was touching and as meaningful as their original vows. The guests enjoyed beautiful lounge seating and cocktails on the lawn at Palafox Wharf while we stole a few minutes for creative portraits around Pensacola’s awesome historic district, and then everyone dined on fresh seafood before dancing the night away.
