What was your favorite detail from the wedding day?
Shayonna has the very best style, and she is all glam, and her incredible Ese Azenbor gown was stunning. The two-piece wedding dress started with the most beautifully beaded trumpet gown, with off the shoulder sleeves and sparkles and texture everywhere. The icing on the cake was the detachable train, which was at least 15 feet long! Tristan was pretty sharp as well, in his white jacket and navy slacks. This gorgeous couple looked like they just stepped out of a magazine, and it was a joy to photograph them.
What made the reception fun?
I absolutely loved photographing this fun party – the dance floor was hopping all night long! The DJ played a fabulous mix of songs (Shayonna and Tristan had a huge part in song selection, and they definitely knew what songs would encourage their guests to party!). The best moment was during the bride and groom’s first dance. Halfway through the sweet slow dance, cold sparklers started erupting as cloud smoke rolled across the floor. It transformed the already-beautiful ballroom into a wonderland and it was such a perfect backdrop for Shayonna and Tristan’s first dance.
Tell me about the couple’s choice of color palette.
Shayonna planned a formal and glam beach wedding, and it was stunning. She chose turquoise as her color, and her bridesmaids and flowers were the same color as the clear blue waters of Destin Pass, right behind their outdoor ceremony. There was sparkle everywhere as well, and it was a beautiful blend of beachy decor with New York glam – it was fabulous.
